In 6th grade science, Students worked together to sharpen their communication, memory, and listening skills to recreate three dimensional shapes. One student would look at a shape. Then the student would have to explain what the shape looked like to the partner. The partner would then recreate the shape. This is more difficult than it sounds, but many did very well with this.

๐๐Repairs are moving along quickly, and Gerald Perry Tennis Company will NOW begin resurfacing on Monday July 29. Both complexes will be closed to community members during this time. We are hopeful that the courts will be available for community members after August 5.

Due to severe lightning damage on Tuesday, 7/16/24, the south tennis courts require significant repairs. Hereโs our plan to get them back in shape:
๐ ๏ธ Demo Work: Midwest Railroad will start repairing the damaged areas soon.

Activities earlier this week included a visit from Cuddle Cats Rescue and a classroom focus on the Black Bear.
Thank you to Cuddle Cats Rescue and the Missouri Department of Conservation for their time visiting and resources we used.

๐๐จS.T.A.R.T., which stands for Substance Tobacco Alcohol Resistance Training, is the Hannibal Police Departmentโs drug awareness program for sixth grade students. The goal of the program is to educate students on the dangers of drugs and other external influences and how they can negatively impact their lives.
๐๐จThe nine-week program covers lessons in tobacco; alcohol; marijuana; pills, powders and inhalants; bullying; digital citizenship; and peer pressure. At the end of the program, each student is required to write an essay to graduate, winners received a $25 gift Card to Walmart.
๐๐จCongratulations to these students on winning the S.T.A.R.T essay for their block. Addilyn Essig, Kayli Morris, Logan Whelan, Emma Baum, Rex Noland, Abigail Bixler, Ashlyn Daly, Ella Butler, Ace Jones, Teagan Banton, Marli Fredd.
