🌍✈️ HMS Students Took a Trip Around the World—No Passport Needed! 🌍✈️ HMS Enrichment Summer School classes spent two weeks exploring cultures across the globe! Students video chatted with friends in Malawi and Israel, and enjoyed in-person presentations about Europe, Maldives, Ghana, and Italy. 📚 Hannibal Middle School Summer School Expectations We’re excited to welcome your student to Summer School! Please review the following information to help ensure a smooth and successful experience: Dates of Summer School: June 2- June 13 🚪 Doors Open: 7:15 AM- ALL students will report to the cafeteria upon arrival. 🥞 Breakfast Begins: 7:30 AM 🍽️ Lunch: All students will be served lunch during the day. ⏰ Dismissal: 3:00 PM 🚗 Car Rider Pick-Up: Please pick up car riders behind the school by the gym. 🛠️ Carpentry Class Reminder: Students must wear pants and closed-toe shoes for safety. ✍️ Still Need to Sign Up? Families can visit the HMS office next week to complete registration.

🏴‍☠️🎺HMS band had their spring concert. They had performances by HMS Jazz band, 6th grade band, 7th grade band, and 8th grade band. It is awesome to hear the improvements from all bands. Our students are still going strong as the school year winds down! This week, these 7th graders tackled two-step inequalities using vertical whiteboards — showing off what they know and using every corner of the classroom to collaborate, think critically, and solve problems on their feet.

HMS students who qualified for State History Day competed on Saturday. Jesse Strube places first with his exhibit and will be going on to Nationals in June at the University of Maryland.

Students were working with dry ice when learning about sublimation.

Frog dissection day! Students have been learning about frog’s organs and their functions. Today they got to dissect to find those organs.

🎶🏴‍☠️The 8th graders had a great day at the Northeast Honor Choir in Columbia. Congrats on a great performance!

🎶Some of our 6th grade choir students participated in the Northeast District 6th Grade Honor Choir today in Moberly with over 300 other area students. 🏴‍☠️Our students stood out as being prepared, focused, and respectful. Great job, Pirates!
