We want to make you aware of recent changes that may affect some of our families in November.
What’s Happening
Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, the State of Missouri has announced it will not issue November 2025 SNAP (food stamp) benefits. Families who rely on SNAP should prepare accordingly and consider local resources for support.
What This Means for Families
SNAP benefits suspended: November benefits will not be issued.
Who’s affected: This change may impact many Missouri households. Data from the University of Missouri Extension shows that Marion and Ralls Counties have a combined 1,003 households receiving SNAP benefits, the majority of which are households with children.
Applications still processed: DSS will continue to accept and process SNAP applications, reported changes, and mid-certifications.

Actions Families Can Take Now
Complete your Free and Reduced Meal Form Online applications are available at www.hannibal60.com/page/foodservices . Printed copies are also available at your child’s school.
Need assistance? Contact Food Services at 573-221-2378 for questions or help with meal applications.
Community support: United Way of the Mark Twain Area maintains a list of local food resources at unitedwaymta.org/community-resources.
Buddy Packs from HAYS: The Hannibal Alliance for Youth Success (HAYS) provides Buddy Packs with kid-friendly meals for weekends.
If your family is not currently receiving a Buddy Pack but would like to, please let your child’s teacher, counselor, or building administrator know.
If you already receive one but need additional support, please contact your school counselor.
