8th Grade ELA and Math

Julie HooperJulie Hooper: Literature

My love of books and my past 32 years as a teacher in kindergarten, first, fourth, sixth, and seventh grades, where my focus was always Language Arts, led me to my current position as the 8th Grade Literature teacher. This position allows me to share my passion for words and books with my students and to encourage them to become lifelong readers. I graduated with an Elementary Education degree from Quincy University and completed my Master’s work at Southern Baptist University. My home life circles around my husband, our dog, my three children, and my three grandchildren. (And books!)

Sarah Almon: ELA

My name is Sarah Almon. I began working for Hannibal Middle School in 2017, and I have since worked as an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher (and wouldn't have it any other way)!  I graduated from Hannibal LaGrange University with my secondary education degree, and I'm currently pursuing my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Courtney Feith: Math

Hi, my name is Courtney Feith. I graduated in the Spring of 2019 from Culver-Stockton College where I earned my B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education along with a middle school endorsement. In summer of 2021 I will earn my Master's degree in Education. I started teaching 8th grade math and algebra 1 in the fall of 2019. My husband, Kenny, and I have been married since 2018 and live in Hannibal. I have a daughter, Emma, and a "bonus" daughter Makenna. When I'm not teaching, you will find me spending time with family.

Jake Woodrow: Math

My name is Robert "Jake" Woodrow. I began teaching math at South Shelby High School in 2018 and have been a part of the Hannibal Middle School Pirate crew teaching 8th grade math since 2019. I graduated from Hannibal LaGrange University with a B.S. in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics. I'm currently pursuing my Master's degree in learning, teaching, and curriculum with an emphasis in mathematics education from Mizzou. I have been married to my lovely wife Sarah since 2014, and I enjoy just about anything with technology and nature. I believe that we all are mathematicians, we just need to be willing to make some mistakes.
